At Emergent Health, we’ve been coaching people to find their unique path to wellbeing for almost two decades.
We rarely meet a client that hasn’t already done great work to try and improve their health. Most have worked really hard on Diet, or Exercise already. Yet, for some reason, they keep falling back to square one again, and again.
So we take a different approach. One that says …

The answer really depends on your goals. So let’s talk about the kind of goals Health Coaching is good, and bad, at achieving.
Let’s start with the ‘Bad’:
- Short-Term Aesthetics: Whilst Health Coaching very much helps people reach aesthetic goals, we’re not really about ‘short-term’ aesthetic goals. We tend to recommend Personal Training if you want to get in shape quickly for something like a wedding.
- Outsourcing your health plan: Whilst we absolutely help people create a plan, we don’t tell people what to do. So if you’re looking for someone to just write a meal plan and exercise routine and tell you to follow it, then again, personal training might be a better fit for you.
And here’s the ‘Good’:
- Learning to be healthy: Health Coaching teaches people how to be healthy. So rather than outsourcing all your health decisions to a trainer, a Health Coach will help you build the skills required for a life of health and wellbeing.
- Long-Term Health: If you’re looking for health and wellbeing to extend into later life, then Health Coaching does exactly that. By teaching you the skills required, health can be yours for life.
- Aesthetic Goals: If you want to lose weight, tone up or generally improve your physique, Health Coaching can help you build and implement a plan to get you there.
- Learning to balance a healthy life: If you’re struggling to find that balance between a busy life and a healthy one, Health Coaching is designed to support you in doing just that.
- Support & Accountability: Many of us need some support or accountability in order to achieve our goals. Our Health Coaching offers you a compassionate and listening ear to share your thoughts and concerns with, coupled with professional and experienced advice to overcome obstacles.
We get it, even a free call can feel intimidating, so let’s see what we can do to alleviate your concerns by telling you what to expect.
When you sign up for a free call you can expect to feel treated like any of our long-time clients. Just like them you’ll simply experience our coaching first hand. We’ll learn about your goals and listen to your story with a deep curiosity. Then we’ll share any insights that come our way.

What happens when you book a Discovery Call?
We’ll send you a link to a form for you to fill in. This will give us some background information on you and enable us to learn what you’re hoping to get out of Health Coaching. This will give us a head start in the call. With this information in our hands, we’ll chat it all through with you, dig a little deeper and provide you with some insights you can take away; just like any other client.
Towards the end of the call we’ll chat about whether coaching is the right fit for your goals. (If not, then we’ll happily share our advice about what might be a better fit.)
But hopefully what we provide, and what will meet your aspirations, will be a good fit. If that’s the case, and you want to be coached through health change by us, then we can discuss the best plan of action.
You can go away and think about it, or sign up right there. Either way is just fine with us. No pressure. No sales tactics. Just good old fashioned service.
You’re absolutely correct.
You may have already noticed that when you ramp up your exercise or restrict your calories, something often halts your progress; taking you back to square one time and time again.
This is because restricting diet or increasing exercise both result in having less energy (one restricts getting it, the other spends it quickly).
Diet and exercise are two of the important ingredients to gaining health. But your success is influenced by more than just motivation or will power for these alone.
Sleep, stress, injury and a lack of a sense of purpose (why you’re following this path in the first place) all affect your diet and exercise decisions on a daily basis.
For example, there is a huge body of research showing the link between an accumulated lack of sleep and the food choices we make. Here’s a referenced article we wrote on the subject.
So we look at the bigger picture with our clients. We ask questions like:
“Why did your past health drives fail?”, “Do you have the energy balance to take on calorie restriction and lose weight right now?”, “Why are you prone to injury shortly after starting an exercise programme?”…
Therefore, Health Coaching takes deeper look into a person’s health and seeks to find more sustainable solutions.
Initially, yes.
To start your coaching journey we have clients commit to 3 months of fortnightly coaching.
6 coaching calls over 3 months: £570 (£95 per call).
After that you can either book another block or go session-by-session.
Health coaching is an iterative process, meaning we take feedback from you, after having a couple of weeks practicing what we spoke about, then together we discuss, tweak and make changes based on what we’ve learnt.
This is the most effective way to work out what really creates health in the context of your life, because we all have slightly different needs. Therefore, three months is our minimum coaching period because it gives you and us time to start experimenting.
This is what you can expect to receive in your first three months of coaching:
- Fortnightly coaching calls.
- A printed hardback Owner’s Manual.
- To be deeply listened to and supported by your coach.
- To be taught the skills of health that fit into your life.
- Uncover your personal preferences for healthy practices.
- Access to our growing online resources.
- Private Messaging & check-ins with your Coach between sessions.
This includes lifetime access to our online resources, 24/7.
The price is the same whether you choose to work 1-2-1 with us, or come as a pair with a ‘Plus One’. The only addition is the £125 charge for setting up a ‘Plus One’.
It’s simple really. Reaching health goals is much easier when you have support. It’s easier still if one of those people supporting you is on the same shared journey. You can be there for each other through good times and bad.
Now, there are a few ifs and buts here, so let’s talk through them.
Firstly you’re sharing a single coaching call together, and because of that you’ll both be agreeing to learn the same, or similar, skills at the same time. That way you can support each other in mastering them.
Secondly, you’re also sharing information about yourself in this small group setting. This can occasionally lead to a reluctance in sharing vital information with your Coach, stemming from a hesitation to share it in front of your Plus One. It’s important for your Coach to get the full picture, but we completely respect your need for privacy, so to help you can use our Private Messaging system to share this information with us confidentially.
Thirdly, you’re agreeing to go on the same journey to reach the same goal. If your Plus One is looking to achieve something different from you, then unfortunately they’ll need to join up separately. This only works when we’re all moving in the same direction.
The benefit to having a shared experience however is vast. Sure, it halves the cost for each of you, but more than that is the camaraderie you’ll feel working towards a common goal.
So if teaming up suits you, we highly recommend it.
A one off setup charge of £125.
To cover the cost of the additional Owner’s Manual and the time taken to process intake and medical history forms etc, we charge a one time fee of £125 to add a Plus One to your coaching.
After that, the standard coaching session pricing is shared between you.
The Plus One will have the same access to the same online resources and Private Messaging as you do, so after the initial sign up fee everything will be the same.
